Our Ethos
Toys to You is owned jointly by myself, Julie and my mother Margaret Rae. We are a small family business with big ideas.
Our ethos is to sell only ethical childrens toys including fair trade toys and also environmentally friendly toys in our ethical toy shop. All the wooden toys we sell are made using eco friendly practices and wood from sustainable forestation.
We stock a whole range of fair trade toys made in Sri Lanka. We also sell a range of toys called Cause Toys. The company who make Cause Toysdonate 50% of their profits to building schools in third world countries.
We don't sell battery operated childrens toys because batteries are a non-biodegradable and are a toxic blight on our landfill sites. And we don't stock plastic toys as we believe they contain toxic phthalates despite the EU's decision to remove 6 of the 8 phthalates in plastic toys. Plastic toys are also non-biodegradable.

Education and Early Learning through Play
We also want to encourage early learning and education through toys and play. So we stick to selling toys that are not only fairly traded and green but also toys that educate through play and creativity.
We are also stockists of Books for Life almost indestructible books that featured on the Five O'Clock Show with Richard Hammond on ITV in early 2006. These books are kinder to the environment because they don't need to be replaced.
